Welcome. This is a guide portal to the popular hill station in southern India, the Nilgiris. The Nilgiris called 'Ooty' is located in the western ghats of India which is a District in the southern state Tamilnadu. Its cooler climate, greener mountains, variety of flora and fauna, Tea estates and spices attract thousands of tourists from every corner of the world.
My native place is Coimbatore the adjacent district but not a hill station. I have been here for around 3 years now. Iam working in a state government Department in Kotagiri. Kotagiri is one of the revenue Taluks in Nilgiris District. Other taluks are Udhagai (Udahagamandalam), Gudalur, Pandalur, Kundah and Coonoor.
Apart from being a tourist destination there are numerous boarding schools/convents offer high quality education. Many were started during the British Raj and still run by Anglo-Indians.
Nilgiris offers the best quality Tea and one of the largest producer of Tea in the World. Spices like cardamon, black pepper, ginger, cloves, cinnamon etc., are also grown here. Vegetables like carrots, beans, potato, cauliflower, cabbage; ornamental flowers, medicinal plants are grown here.
I am here to help you anything regarding ooty, a vacation vist, booking of resort or cottage, a business inquiry such as buying or exporting Tea, Coffee or other other products of Nilgiris, buying a property or real estate in ooty.
